Purchase, Refund, & Transfer Policies
Effective July 2025St. Matthew’s Conservatory of Classical Dance at St. Matthew’s Conservatory of Classical Dance, we are committed to clarity, integrity, and professionalism in all financial matters. The following outlines our official policy on refunds, transfers, and session expiration for all enrolled students and clients.
1. Private Sessions & Small Group Lessons
This section applies to:

Single private sessions
-
Introductory 3-session, 5-session, and 10-session packages
-
Small group lessons, including duets, trios, and quartets in either ballet or Pilates
Usage Timeframe:

All private sessions and packages must be used within 4 months of the purchase date
-
This includes single sessions, 3-packs, 5-packs, and 10-packs
-
After 4 months, any unused sessions will expire and are not eligible for extension or reinstatement
Refund Policy:

Refunds will only be issued if St. Matthew’s Conservatory cancels a session with less than 24 hours’ notice or is unable to fulfill the scheduled course or service in full

These instances are rare and will be handled at the discretion of the Artistic Director

No refunds will be issued for missed, late-canceled, or unused sessions
Transfer Policy:

Sessions and packages may be transferred at the request of the original purchaser

Transfers may be made to any sibling or parent within the same immediate family
-
Families may also gift sessions to another student outside the family by written request
Transfers must be requested before the expiration of the package and approved by the Artistic Director
2. Conservatory Program (Semester Tuition)
Enrollment in the Conservatory Program secures a student’s place in a semester-based curriculum, including rehearsal schedules, performance commitments, and core academic training.
Refund Policy:

Conservatory semester tuition is non-refundable

A refund will only be issued in the event that the Conservatory is unable to fulfill its commitment to deliver the full program for the semester

Requests for partial refunds due to significant medical emergencies or relocation may be submitted in writing but must be approved by both the Artistic Director and the Board of Directors
Tuition cannot be credited, deferred, or transferred to another student or future term
3. Rescheduling & Missed Sessions
(Private & Small Group Lessons Only)

Private and small group sessions may be rescheduled one time with at least 24 hours’ notice

Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be forfeited
-
No-shows or missed sessions without notice will not be refunded or credited
-
Repeated late cancellations may result in a temporary hold on future bookings
4. How to Request a Transfer

To request a transfer of a session or package, please email the Conservatory with:

Full name of the original purchaser
-
Date of purchase
-
Type and number of sessions remaining
-
Name and contact information for the intended recipient (either a sibling, parent, or another student)
-
Transfer requests must be submitted before the expiration date and will be confirmed within 3 business days.
